How do I get started?

2) You will receive a follow-up email once we review your information to determine if you are a good fit for our services.
3) If approved, you will receive access to our counseling platform where you can complete the intake paperwork and request your appointments.
What is Amber's training & professional background?
Amber completed her undergraduate work in 2007 at Indiana University, majoring in Human Development & Family Studies, with minors in both Psychology & Sociology. She earned her master's degree in Christian Counseling at Cairn University, just outside of Philadelphia, in 2013. Amber is also certified in Integrative Mental Health and Holistic & Integrative Health. In addition to her formal education, Amber has completed over 60 hours of training in trauma & crisis response as a former victim advocate and she has continually sought out professional development in spiritual formation, such as the Elijah House of Inner Healing.
As an alum of the Teach For America program and former college advisor, Amber has a strong track record of helping others achieve ambitious goals, both personally and professionally. She has authored and presented several leadership seminars in the higher education setting, providing motivation and inspiration to people of all ages. Amber loves to share her knowledge and experience through workshops and online courses, which is why she launched her online education company, Life Interconnected, in 2020.
Are you licensed?
I am not a licensed mental health counselor. I am a Christian Counselor. I value the freedom to integrate my faith and diverse professional background to help clients holistically, rather than being limited by the requirements of submitting insurance claims. I think people need to be treated as dynamic, complex human beings, created by God, rather than defined by one label. I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Do you offer marriage counseling?
Yes! I specialize in Christian Counseling for both the individual and marriage. The hourly rate is the same.
Where are you located?
I am currently located inside of Thrive Holistic Medicine, located at 2430 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805.
Do you offer virtual appointments?
Yes! Virtual appointments are available via zoom. You will see that option once you are ready to select your appointment time.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept insurance at this time. All rates are self-pay.
What is your rate?
Individual & Marriage Counseling: $140/hr
Counseling Intensive: $375 for 2.5 hr session where we can dig deep into a specific issue.
Do you offer a sliding scale rate?
If you are committed to the counseling process but cannot afford the cost, feel free to contact me at [email protected] to discuss your situation.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel your appointment, please let me know as soon as possible. I do require 24-hour notice for cancellations. If any appointment is cancelled with less than 24-hour notice or results in a no show, you will be charged the full fee for the missed appointment.
